Fine strings of light come from my hand and circle around the hawk. They slowly approach the hawk. While it has noticed me, it hasn’t moved. It continues eating. Even as the strings touch it it’s not retreating yet. The strings of light form a ball around the hawk. The ball shakes several times. After the shaking, the ball is seemingly absorbed by the hawk.
The contract with the male wild Thunder Hawk was successfully made.
Give the Thunder Hawk a name: ________________________
Success! I hear a sound effect that’s just all too familiar. The sound effect that has been around since 1997. Good thing nobody is here to sue this world over copyright! But now I need another name. Hmm… male Thunder Hawk… Chicken, I mean, Raiden! It’s just the first thing that comes to my mind other than Chicken. No, I shouldn’t call it Chicken like I used to do in my games. I can’t afford to give them uninspired names. Let’s call him Raiden. I accept that name and as before, my log tells me about the EXP I gained. It seems I have grown a level or two! If that is the case, this must be quite a creature I contracted! Quickly, I try to get some more information about it.
Glossary: Thunder Hawk
While Thunder Hawks typically don’t attack humans they can become a Class
Xthreat if provoked. Just as regular hawks, Thunder Hawks hunt and kill smaller animals and monsters. Should those not exist in their area they might select to hunt bigger animals and monsters using their Lightning Magic skills. It is believed Thunder Hawks can also feed on lightning from both weather and Lightning Magic.
I call Raiden over. He flies towards me and lands on my head. He sits there while gripping my headband with his claws. While this seems to work I’m not sure if I should get a falconry gauntlet. So I can have him land on my hand. Or maybe not. If he sits on head nobody can pet me on my head! The sun is rising. The others will wake up soon. I wonder how they’ll react when they see Raiden. I guess it will create a commotion.
